Zoe David, aged 34, has been remanded in custody after appearing before magistrates charged with murdering her daughter. The body of Zoey Anne David, aged 4, was found in her bedroom in the Maesglas area of Newport on 19 June.

The NSPCC has published research revealing young witnesses often have to wait more than a year to give evidence in Crown Court cases in England and Wales. In response to the findings, the NSPCC is calling for the UK Government for England, Wales and Northern Ireland to enforce its policy of fast-tracking criminal cases involving young witnesses and monitor delays.

Operation Ore, the police investigation into online child abuse, is to be challenged in the court of appeal amid allegations from campaigners that hundreds of men have been wrongly convicted. A group of experts have claimed that Operation Ore was tainted because the database at the centre of the investigation contained evidence of widespread credit card fraud.
