Employee fundraising has real benefits for employer, employee and for the NSPCC. By encouraging your staff to work together on fundraising projects, you give them the opportunity to develop team working and acquire new skills.
Not only can this improve staff morale, motivation and communication, it can also enhance your company's image with staff, suppliers and the community. It's great fun for staff, but also very cost effective as staff drive the activities themselves.
The NSPCC Corporate Partnerships team has the experience and resource to provide all the support they need: inspired ideas, fundraising packs, advice on working with the local media, expert help with maximising fundraising targets and information on existing NSPCC events.
Why not make the NSPCC your company's Charity of the Year? It's a great way to unite staff and get them focused on supporting our work to end cruelty to children. You could also increase staff involvement by promising to match the sum raised by your employees.
Case Study: Lloyds TSB
In 2004 Lloyds TSB employees nominated the NSPCC as their fourth Charity of the Year, raising a phenomenal £1.2 million for NSPCC Family Support Services and smashing the target of £750,000.
The NSPCC worked closely with Lloyds TSB staff across the group, including the charity co-ordinator and 'Charity Champions' providing advice, support and ideas.
Fundraising involved employees at all levels, and even helped break departmental barriers during a re-structure when in a drive to merge retail and business banking, the activity weekend 'Delivering Our Future' brought over 350 staff together and raised in excess of £100,000.
Other fundraising events throughout the year ranged from activities in branches such as cake sales and raffles, to gala dinners and golf days for senior members of staff.
John Spence, Director of Policy, Co-ordination and Risk, said "I have heard nothing but praise for the way the NSPCC has supported us throughout the year - we have all enjoyed working with you".
