Payroll giving

For companies

Payroll Giving enables employers to ensure their staff can donate efficiently and directly through their salary and it's easy to set up.  

 

If your company doesn't have a payroll giving scheme, get your payroll department to talk to a government approved agency, like the Charities Aid Foundation or Give as you earn.  SME's (small to medium sized enterprises) are now eligible for a government grant to set up and promote Payroll Giving to their staff for the benefit of UK charities - including the NSPCC. Giving through your salary
Payroll giving is the most tax efficient way to give. Donating before you are taxed means that money that would have gone to the Inland Revenue goes directly to the NSPCC.

  Case Study: Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS)  
Over 1000 RBS staff donate to the NSPCC through payroll giving.

RBS is the largest corporate payroll donor in the UK and is unique in that it double matches staff contributions. This means that for every £1 a member of staff gives, RBS ads a further £2 (up to a maximum monthly donation from the Bank of £200). In the past 12 months over £8.5 million has been raised for 3200 charities across the UK.
