Below is a list of the various projects we run for children, young people and families in Northern Ireland.

Treatment Services
Provides a service to help the most vulnerable and isolated children to recover from the effects of abuse. Services are provided for children and young people between the ages of 3 and 18 years. Self referrals from children and young people up to the age of 25 accepted. Teams are based in Craigavon, Foyle and Belfast.
Family Support Services
Offers a variety of programmes for both parents and children up to the age of 11. Services include counselling, domestic violence programmes and home visiting services. For parents, there are behaviour management classes, parenting skills, groupwork, and Positive Parenting Programmes. For children, individual and centre-based work is offered, which involves self-protection work, self-esteem building, groupwork, and relationship and bullying issues. Referrals from parent/ carers and children accepted. Teams are based in Belfast and Ballymena.
Schools Counselling and Support Service
Provides a lifeline to children who are unhappy, frightened, distressed and experiencing difficulties inside or outside of school. Offers a confidential service and a trusted, professional adult for pupils who are scared and unsure of what to do or where to go to get help. The service is also tailored to the needs of an individual school and is offered on a ‘drop in’ or short-term sessional basis. Referrals from parent/ carers and children/ young people accepted. Operates in South Eastern, Western and Belfast Education and Library Boards.
Domestic Abuse Recovery Service
Provides an individual and group work service to children (aged 5-12yrs) and their parents who have been exposed to domestic abuse. The service offers parents and children the opportunity to develop a greater understanding of the dynamics of domestic abuse and its impact on family members. The work focuses on breaking the silence; assessment of the traumatic impact on the child and its impact on parenting ability. It aims to enhance parent/child relationships in the recovery process and equip children and parents with appropriate coping and safeguarding strategies in the event of being exposed to risk of domestic abuse in the future. Operates in Foyle.
Schools Organisers
Schools organisers are fundraisers who deliver the NSPCC's messages to teaching staff, children and their parents and carers. They work closely with other NSPCC services to ensure their message is always up-to-date. Operate throughout Northern Ireland.
Young Witness Service
Aims to make the process of giving evidence in court more understandable and less traumatic for witnesses under the age of 18 years. Support and information is provided before, during and after the trial, including a pre-trial visit to court. Volunteers and workers also accompany the young witness when using the TV link to give evidence, or sit nearby if their evidence is heard in open court. Referrals from parents/ carers and children/ young people accepted. The Young Witness Service is currently available in all Crown Courts in Northern Ireland. Work has recently begun on piloting the service in magistrates and youth courts.
Inter-link and Insight Projects
Works with children and young people who display sexually harmful behaviour. Also offers a specialist service for children and young people between the ages of ten and 21 years old who have a learning disability. Works in partnership with families, parents and carers to ensure they understand the behaviour displayed and how to support/supervise the child or young person. All referrals come from social services. Teams are based in Craigavon and Omagh.
The Independent Visiting Service
Works with children and young people who are `looked after` by Social Services and have little or no contact with their parents. Aims to provide Independent Visitors to these children and young people to offer them a source of care and support. Self referrals from children/ young people accepted. Teams working in Northern Health and Social Care Trust covering the districts of Antrim, Ballymena, Ballymoney, Carrickfergus, Coleraine, Cookstown, Larne, Magherafelt and Newtownabbey and Western Health and Social Care Trust covering the districts of Omagh, Enniskillen and Strabane.
Child Friendly Business Practise
This service develops projects to help businesses make their contribution to protecting children. Available throughout Northern Ireland.
Child Protection in Sport
Works in partnership with the Sports Council for Northern Ireland promoting child protection policies and training with sporting organisations. Implements the Code of Ethics and Good Practise for Children's Sport. Available throughout Northern Ireland.
Stop it now!
Stop it now! seeks to raise awareness among adults about child sexual abuse. It offers a free helpline for those concerned either about their own behaviour towards children or the behaviour of someone close to them.
ChildLine
ChildLine is a free 24-hour helpline for children in distress or danger. Trained volunteer counsellors comfort, advise and protect children and young people who may feel they have nowhere else to turn.
There4me.com
There4me.com is an interactive website for young people aged 12 to 16 years. It offers information, advice and real time on-line support from NSPCC qualified social workers.
