A call to action: refreshing the vision and renewing the call to all organisations to safeguard children and young people in and through sportCalls on all organisations that provide sport to children to sign up to key actions, such as involving children and young people in creating child protection plans, and ensuring appropriate checks are followed when recruiting staff and volunteers. Developed in partnership with the Department for Culture, Media & Sport, Sport England, UK Sport, and the Youth Sport Trust, it builds on the progress made over the past decade.

Published by NSPCC (2011). Three year research project carried out by the University of Edinburgh/NSPCC Centre for UK-wide Learning in Child Protection (CLiCP) looking into young adults' childhood experiences of emotional harm, body image, self harm, sexual harm and physical harm in organised sport.

This high quality activity guidance was developed in partnership with the CPSU, Sport England, the Department for Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS), key partners from youth & voluntary sectors, governing bodies of sport and county sport partnerships. The safeguarding framework is an overarching approach to safeguarding children in and through sport. It incorporates standards, support, progress and evaluation. The framework consists of five standards that a sports organisation should demonstrate it undertakes at all levels of its sport.
