The safeguarding support toolkit is a resource currently being developed to support the work of all those involved in sports programmes such as Sportivate .
This includes County Sports Partnerships (CSPs) with a strategic or funding role and other organisations or groups responsible for identifying, commissioning and monitoring potential activity providers, as well as individuals and organisations delivering those activities to children and young people.
The toolkit is being designed to support all organisations involved in the safeguarding programmes working with children and young people/adults:
The Toolkit will provide strategic and operational information and split into four sections:
Section 1 - the role and responsibilities of the CSPs and other partners in terms of ensuring minimum standards for safeguarding are in place. Information will be provided for the variety of organisations that contribute to providing programme activities.
Section 2 - the six safeguarding criteria in detail. It will support the activity provider in developing safeguarding policy and practices that meet the needs of their organisation and provide guidance to assist with the preparation and/or review of safeguarding policy and practice.
Section 3 - examples of child protection policies, procedures and good practice guidance, many of which have been provided by CSPs and other sports organisations. Additional information and signposting relevant to programmes with children and young people (e.g. Sportivate).
Section 4 - exemplers, guidance and resources to support good practice, policies and procedures.
This Safeguarding Support Toolkit is currently being developed and will be available soon.
For further practical guidance on all safeguarding matters, please consult our examples of good practice and sample policies and procedures.
