Holding the baby in mind: a public health approach to safeguarding

This conference aims to:

  • review the evidence about "what works” in safeguarding infant health and promoting family health
  • reflect on the importance of establishing early relationships as a foundation for wellbeing
  • explore the impact of the early environment on development
  • examine and review early interventions as part of a public health approach to safeguarding
  • discuss how infant and family health can be promoted when families are facing challenges
  • consider the way forward in early infant safeguarding.

Who should attend this conference?

Anyone whose work is involved with infants, young children and their families will find this conference useful. This includes midwives, health visitors, psychologists, psychotherapists, nursery nurses, family workers, nurses, GPs, child and adolescent mental health services (CAMHS) practitioners, children’s centre workers and social care staff, policy makers and managers.
