Protecting babies' heads

A teaching toolbox for preventing shaking and head injuries in babies

Front cover of Protecting babies' headsBy Dr Lisa Coles - Department of Child Health, Wales College of Medicine, Cardiff University (October 2006)

Protecting babies' heads contains materials for child protection professionals working to prevent shaking and head injuries in babies.

Based on existing research into subdural haematoma, the toolbox can be used in mainstream practice for those working with vulnerable groups. It includes information about at-risk groups, strategies for prevention and parental education materials.

Protecting babies' heads is published by the Community Practitioners' and Health Visitors' Association (CPHVA). For further information or to order a copy visit www.cphvabookshop.com
