The conference aimed to deepen delegates' knowledge and understanding of:
- the prevalence and impact of child maltreatment and child victimisation in the UK
- the impact of the research findings on local practice, in a multi-agency context
- the implications of the research for policy and practice in England
- local resources, practice developments and multi-agency networks relevant to child protection work in England.
