Young people who self-harm: implications for public health practitioners (PDF, 184KB)
is a short research briefing and literature review looking at self-harm by children and young people.
Deliberate self-harm has emerged as a major public health issue and was the subject of a national inquiry carried out by the Mental Health Foundation and the Camelot Foundation in 2006 1 .
Our research briefing pulls together the findings and recommendations from the national inquiry report and other research findings that are particularly relevant to public health professionals.
