It doesn't happen to disabled children: child protection and disabled children (PDF, 273KB)  discusses what is known about the abuse of disabled children, highlights inadequacies in current policy and practice, and makes recommendations to both government and local agencies.

These recommendations are supported by national disability and child protection organisations including the Ann Craft Trust, Barnardo's, Council for Disabled Children, Mencap, National Children's Bureau, National Deaf Children's Society, NSPCC, SCOPE, Triangle and VOICE UK.
