The following list of books has been prepared by the  NSPCC Library and Information Service (November 2000) to help people looking for the history of child law in England and Wales between the founding of the NSPCC in 1884 and the passing of the 1989 Children Act. It includes only the texts of child laws and guides to child law. It excludes reports and other books that were published in connection with proposals to reform child law. It is arranged in chronological order.
