The Respect to Protect project is an initiative by the NSPCC which aims to develop good relations with black and minority ethnic (BME) organisations and individual champions who advocate and promote the welfare of black and minority ethnic children and young people.
The NSPCC recognises the inequalities faced by minority groups because of their cultural and ethnic differences. We intend to improve the protective capability of black and minority ethnic community organisations and at the same time learn how NSPCC services can better respond to the needs of diverse black and minority ethnic children and their families.
Safeguarding children is everyone's responsibility. Black and minority ethnic organisations play a major role in providing services to children and young people. The Respect to Protect team will engage with the black and minority ethnic community through joint working with voluntary organisations, including faith groups.
