The NSPCC's online guide to help LSCBs audit the recommendations of serious case reviews (SCRs).
When a child dies from abuse or neglect, the local inter-agency group responsible for child protection conduct a review to identify how local professionals and organisations can improve the way they work together to safeguard children.
Following a large number of requests for access to the recommendations contained in serious case reviews, we have produced these pages to help professionals and researchers find the information they require.
An introduction to serious case reviews explaining why they are carried out, who undertakes them and what happens during and after the review process.
A chronological list of the serious case reviews that have been published since 2009 with brief details of the cases and links to the executive summary or full report.
A reading list of the annual and biennial reports analysing the case details and recommendations from completed serious case reviews.
For England, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales. Includes reviews of serious case review policy.
Resources to help local safeguarding children boards (LSCBs) and area child protection committees (ACPCs) in carrying out a review, learning from a review and implementing the recommendations.
We can provide bespoke training courses, expert consultancy services and independent chairs, authors and reviewers for conducting a serious case review and resources for inter-agency training (Piat).
