A FREE CD resource pack

Young person looking around the cornerSafeguarding children in the black and ethnic minority communities is a resource pack for voluntary and independent community groups working with children.

The aim of this pack is take safeguarding into the very heart of black and minority ethnic (BME) communities by raising awareness with parents and carers, community leaders, staff and volunteers working in BME voluntary organisations.

The pack is structured to enable discussion, debate and dialogue about child protection issues with parents and carers. The aim is create a forum where parents and carers and workers can come together and identify child care practices that may pose harm to children and young people.

The pack is also about developing an understanding about the role and responsibilities of statutory and voluntary agencies, recognising the rights and responsibilities of parents and carers accessing services and identifying the range of support services that are available to help and support families.

The CD resource wil be produced in the following languages:
