Safetycheck builds on Firstcheck: a step by step guide for organisations to safeguard children and is comprised of a set of nine 'standards' and a comprehensive section on resources.
Safetycheck is designed not only to enable organisations to safeguard and protect children but also to allow that work to be measured.
Our intention is to initially invite organisations already developing safeguards to make a 'commitment of intent' to safeguard children. Subject to certain criteria being met, and assessed through an approval process, a certificate from the NSPCC formally recognising the progress made in putting safeguards in place will be issued. Future plans are to introduce a 'Quality Mark' scheme whereby organisations will, through a portfolio route demonstrating evidence on how they have met the nine standards, be able to achieve full accreditation.
