NSPCC Consultancy Services

NSPCC Consultancy Services work with many national and international voluntary groups, charities, private and commercial companies, helping them to recognise and meet their responsibilities to safeguard all children.

We help organisations to:

  • develop an organisational safeguarding strategy and implementation plan
  • develop child protection policies, procedures and codes of good practice
  • safely recruit, select and vet paid staff and volunteers
  • involve children, young people and parents/carers in the planning, implementation and evaluation of safeguards
  • develop the 'named person' role, to respond to child protection concerns
  • implement safeguarding strategies, taking into account the needs and expectations of partners, commissioners and funders, as well as staff and trustees
  • audit and review policies, procedures and practice, either before or following a child protection incident or investigation.

We are skilled in and knowledgeable about:

  • child protection practice, policy, research and legislation
  • influencing organisations that are resistant to change by working collaboratively and challenging appropriately
  • facilitating change within the context of an organisation's culture, aims and values.

We have a countrywide perspective and understanding of specific issues and settings such as:

  • protecting disabled children
  • incorporating diversity
  • early years
  • faith and religious organisations
  • international charities
