Someone to turn to: safeguarding children and young people

NSPCC EduCare child protection awareness programme

Someone to turn to: safeguarding children and young peopleOur brand new NSPCC EduCare distance learning programme underpins the knowledge required for the new Vocationally Related Qualification (VRQ) Level 3 in Safeguarding Children and Young People 1 .

NSPCC EduCare Someone to turn to breaks down the complexities of child abuse with sections on different kinds of abuse and has information on bullying and internet safety.

You will learn about child development and how parental difficulties can affect the care of children and will be given information on communicating effectively with children and young people. You will examine current legislation and learn about the child protection network and working in partnership with parents and carers. You will also receive best practice guidance if you need to take action should you suspect a child is being maltreated.

NSPCC EduCare Someone to turn to is made up of twenty-one concise modules and delivered in six parts. Each module features a multiple-choice questionnaire that will test your understanding of the content. At the end of each part, you will find personal activities to help you evaluate your learning and identify any areas you may need more information about or help with.

On successful completion, participants will be awarded a personalised NSPCC EduCare certificate.
