Preventing bullying behaviour

An NSPCC EduCare child protection training programme

Front cover of Preventing bullying behaviour Preventing Bullying Behaviour is an NSPCC EduCare distance learning programme for anyone who comes into contact with children and young people through their work, voluntary or leisure activities.

The impact of bullying can be devastating. A study commissioned by ChildLine found that, of those surveyed, just over half (51%) of pupils in Year 5 reported that they had been bullied during the term and just over a quarter (28%) of pupils in Year 8 1 .

An NSPCC study found that 25% of children bullied by their peers reported that they suffered long term harmful effects lasting into adulthood 2 .
