Analysis and professional judgement

A two-day course for practitioners, supervisors and managers

Aim

To further develop and enhance the skills of analysis, professional judgement and decision-making.

Objectives

On completion of the course, participants should be able to:

  • consider the impact of values on professional practice
  • demonstrate an understanding of types of theory, knowledge and experience used in analysis and professional judgement and the value accorded to each type
  • describe key issues and criteria in the use of research, in evidence based practice
  • identify frameworks, effective in weighing and analysing information
  • state appropriate sources of evidence to support analysis and professional judgement and decision-making
  • develop an action plan to support the application of the learning at an individual and agency level.
