What is the course about?

This course will enable you to explore your own creativity. It will demonstrate how you can use it in communicating with children and promote an inclusive approach to working with children.

It also provides a valuable opportunity to develop skills, gain underpinning knowledge and understanding to meet the evidence requirements of individual units for the

  • OCR Level 2 Certificate for the Children and Young People’s Workforce 
  • Level 3 Diploma for The Children and Young People’s Workforce.

By the end of the course you'll be able to:
 

  • define communication with children and understand the statutory requirements to engage with children and young people

  • describe the barriers and inhibitors to effective communication

  • describe the key factors in promoting inclusive practice

  • describe key factors in establishing a safe environment in which children can communicate

  • develop skills in creative communication techniques.
