Groupwork skills

A three-day course for practitioners

Aim

To provide workers, who have some experience of group work, with the opportunity to further develop their practice in working with groups.

Objectives

On completion, participants should be able to:

  • identify and describe group dynamics and processes
  • name a range of group work techniques and how they can be used
  • demonstrate an understanding on roles and leadership issues
  • consolidate their skills in group facilitation and develop new skills

Participants will use their experience of being part of a three-day learning group to reflect on group work generally.
