A three-module distance learning programme to help you identify children who may be experiencing neglect. For anyone who has already completed basic child protection training.
Neglect is the most common reason for a child to have their name added to the child protection register in Wales, Northern Ireland and Scotland, or be the subject of a child protection plan in England.
Neglect can cause serious harm, which is why it is vital to help and support children who are experiencing it.
Child neglect is available in both paper-based and online formats and is delivered in three short modules with questionnaires to test understanding.
On successful completion, participants are awarded a personalised NSPCC certificate.
Module 1: Understanding the issue
Module 2: Causes and signs of neglect
Module 3: What to do if you have a concern
We also offer face-to-face learning on this issue: see our course on Child Neglect.
The NSPCC has identified child neglect as a key priority to address. Find out more about this topic.
