The NSPCC EduCare Someone to turn to programme covers a range of topics relating to safeguarding children and young people, including bullying and internet safety.
Someone to turn to provides an opportunity for those who have taken a child protection awareness course to learn about the subject more broadly and in greater depth:
You will learn about child development and how parental difficulties can affect the care of children and will be given information on communicating effectively with children and young people. You will examine current legislation and learn about the child protection network and working in partnership with parents and carers. You will also receive best practice guidance if you need to take action should you suspect a child is being maltreated.
NSPCC EduCare Someone to turn to is made up of 21 concise modules and delivered in six parts. Each module features a multiple-choice questionnaire that will test your understanding of the content. At the end of each part, you will find personal activities to help you evaluate your learning and identify any areas you may need more information about or help with.
On successful completion, participants will be awarded a personalised NSPCC EduCare certificate.
