Safeguarding children: everybody's business

Front cover of Safeguarding children: everybody's businessA comprehensive programme of basic awareness training

The third edition of our popular training resource offers detailed guidance for facilitators, enabling most organisations, even those with limited resources, to provide their own basic awareness training.

Safeguarding children: everybody’s business includes all the learning materials required to run the programme. It:

  • is based on supported learning in a group, so that participants can learn from each other
  • is built around a series of video sequences to bring many of the most crucial issues to life
  • refers to legislation and guidance in England, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales.

Audience

Suitable for a wide range of participants, Safeguarding children: everybody’s business will be particularly useful to:

  • anyone working with children and young people in the community
  • members of community organisations supporting parents, carers and families
  • support staff, volunteers, newly qualified professional staff and experienced workers with a specialism other than child and family work in relevant statutory agencies
  • workers and volunteers in charities
  • childminders and workers in play groups, day nurseries and family centres
  • all those working with children and families who are seeking recognition of continuous professional development.
