What is the course about?
This course will increase your and your staff’s awareness of diversity issues when working in early years. It consists of the following modules:
- Module 1 : What is diversity?
- Module 2 : Working with dads
- Module 3 : Working with deaf and disabled children
- Module 4 : Working with BME families and those with English as a second language
- Module 5 : Working with families affected by parental substance / alcohol misuse
- Module 6 : Working with teenage parents.
Who is this course for?
It will be of benefit to practitioners in early years settings, including children's centres, family centres, nurseries, childminders and playgroups.
By the end of the course you should be able to:
- understand what is meant by 'diversity'
- explore and identify issues of diversity in early years practice
- identify how values and beliefs influence practice
- identify and develop strategies for good practice when working with diversity.
We can deliver this training to your organisation at a venue of your choice and to a timescale that suits your requirements.
We can also develop or modify a course specifically to meet your organisation's needs.
