What is the course about?

This course will help you to develop knowledge and skills in active listening and taking creative approaches to listening to children and young people. 

By the end of this course you should be able to:

  • describe the possible impact of child sexual exploitation and sexual abuse on the child

  • identify the main elements of responding to a child or young person who may have experienced child abuse

  • use a range of listening and communication skills with children

  • understand the implications of  this work on self.
