1600 Club and Network Challenge

What does corporate social responsibility mean to your business?

Girl with paintbrushWe are inviting businesses to take up the challenge of raising £1,600 for ChildLine, a service run by the NSPCC.

Why £1,600?

£1,600 could allow us, for example, to answer 400 calls to ChildLine, or it would contribute to funding the training costs of a ChildLine volunteer so that they can answer calls from children.

We work with businesses, both large and small, and encourage them to raise funds that will make a difference to children's lives in the UK.

Why the NSPCC needs support from businesses

Each week at least one child dies from cruelty. Every year 19,000 adolescents attempt suicide. The NSPCC needs the continued support of businesses to increase the provision of its vital services for children.

Why the NSPCC is good for your business

Focusing on the key areas of employees, community and environment, the NSPCC works with local businesses to create a mutually beneficial partnership. Some of the many benefits to businesses include: association with the NSPCC's well known brand, media opportunities, increased employee morale, and the development of a community presence.

The challenge

This scheme challenges local businesses to commit to raising £1,600 ideally withiin six months and then to find another business to take up the challenge.

John Timpson, from high street retailer Timpson, said: "People enjoy it. They like a challenge and enjoy raising money!" John has worked with the NSPCC and ChildLine for over 10 years.
