BrightHouse
BrightHouse, the nation's leading rent-to-own retail chain, specialising in the sale of household and electrical products through weekly payments, have been supporting the NSPCC since December 2009. During 2010 they have raised over £100,000 to help vulnerable children across the UK.
How BrightHouse have helped
To reach this impressive milestone, BrightHouse staff have shown enormous dedication, and participated in a wide range of activities.
These include running the London Marathon, skydiving, baking cakes, riding bikes and organising fun charity events in stores.
In addition to raising funds, BrightHouse have provided valuable Gifts in Kind to the NSPCC. New NSPCC service centres opening around the country have also benefited from this relationship, with donations of white goods, microwaves and TVs.
All BrightHouse stores display NSPCC Helpline and ChildLine promotional posters. Short films are also played in stores, helping to raise awareness of these vital services to the public.
Looking ahead
BrightHouse continues to support the NSPCC throughout 2011 and are aiming to raise a further £100,000. Plans for 2011 include a store Fundraising Relay.
Stores in each region have been challenged to raise as much money as possible, and then to pass 'the baton' over to the next region. Challenges planned include diving with sharks, sports days and sky dives. A team of five brave employees are also rising to the challenge and competing in the Virgin London Marathon in April.
Leo McKee, CEO of BrightHouse said "I am really delighted that BrightHouse have raised over £100,000 in 2010 for NSPCC. This is such a worthwhile cause. I feel honoured to be a part of such an achievement. I would like to personally thank all those who have been involved for helping to put an end to child cruelty."
BrightHouse support the NSPCC in England and the ChildLine service in Scotland.
