Odeon
Odeon Cinemas are the UK's largest Cinema operators and have been raising money for the NSPCC for the last three years. To date, employees at Odeon have raised an impressive £150,000.
Fundraising activities
Activities have included adventurous teams at Odeon Leeds-Bradford and Odeon Huddersfield undertaking a 15 mile walk across West Yorkshire's stunning countryside and intrepid cinema managers from Odeon Hatfield abseiling down the Harlow Water Tower!
The partnership has been so successful because it's not just the Odeon senior management and staff that get involved in the fundraising - they engage with their suppliers, clients, film distributors and their guests too!
20th Century Fox, Disney, Paramount Pictures, Sony, E1 Entertainment and Universal have all donated film titles to the Odeon and the NSPCC for special screenings - ensuring that ticket income from Odeon's Guests will get donated to the NSPCC.
Odeon recently gave their support to the NSPCC offering them the use of their West End Cinema for the Premier of the film 'The Kid'. An important new British film, directed by Nick Moran, tells the story of Kevin - a young man who has endured a poverty-stricken and violent upbringing - and how he comes to terms with his experiences.
Why Odeon support the NSPCC
"It's important to Odeon and everyone we work with that we fundraise for the NSPCC and help them deliver vital support for those children who are most at risk and vulnerable.
But also to ensure that we use our unique position in the public eye to spread awareness amongst our Guests of the NSPCC Helpline and ChildLine service, often the first port of call for children needing someone to talk to, or adults with concern for a child."
Mike Stevens, HR Director.
