For the fun of it
We have a variety of events throughout the year at the NSPCC which make raising money serious fun.
In February 2010 we launched our Step Change event, where we challenged 250 people to run up all 1,037 steps of the Gherkin to raise money for the NSPCC. The fastest participant climbed all the steps in an amazing 4 minutes and 7 seconds!
The event raised over £85,000 for the NSPCC's Child's Voice Appeal. A second Step Change will be taking place in March 2011.
In another active event, fitness enthusiasts worked out the best way to help children in the NSPCC's biggest Aerobathon fitness challenge. The event saw thousands of people digging out their gym kits and taking part in a two hour aerobic workout at each location across the UK.
The Aerobathon was supported by actress and Strictly Come Dancing star Zoe Lucker who urged people to take part.
Another event which sees teams competing for the coveted Conker Trophy is the annual NSPCC City Conker Cup. Now in its seventh year it's a fantastic event which sees teams taking up various activities including conker casino, golf and a conker shaped ice luge. The next City Conker Cup is taking place on 7 October 2010.
