More about the event

The EMC Silicon Cup is the largest sailing regatta for the IT industry and the organisers have chosen the NSPCC to be one of the charities to benfit again this year.

Now in its 12th year, the Silicon Cup has grown to include more than 400 competitors and continues to attract more companies that join those that have taken part regularly over the years.

A past competitor said:

"It was a magic two days at the end of which I am 'exhausted but exhilarated'. It was awesome to see at first hand the skill involved in handling those magnificent craft, and to feel so safe in the hands of the experts. Everyone on the team was fascinating in their own right and I've made some great new friends whom I look forward to meeting again."

The Silicon Cup 2010 (formerly the IT Regatta) is sponsored by EMC.
