Helping raise awareness of the NSPCC Helplines
Starting a conversation on Facebook, forums, blogs and other social spaces can be a very effective way to raise awareness of the NSPCC Helpline. Friends and followers often pay more attention to what you say than what they see on a poster, advert or leaflet.
Across social media
When you update your status or take part in a conversation, it may help to include these points:
- the NSPCC Helpline number is 0808 800 5000
- you can call about any worry you have for a child
- http://bit.ly/aByln tells you all you need to know.
For Facebook
Copy and paste this status update for your profile:
<your name here> I’ve saved 0808 800 5000, the NSPCC Helpline number, to my mobile. Because you never know when a child will need you. http://bit.ly/aByln
You can also replace your profile picture with our “Save this number” image. If you’re a PC user, right-click and save the image to your desktop. If you’re a Mac user, hold down Ctrl and click. In Facebook, click on Profile and update your picture in the normal way.
For Twitter
- Pick up the NSPCC Helpline twibbon for your Twitter profile.
- You can also add the background below to your page. Once you’ve saved it and logged in, click Settings and then Design to add it.
- Or use these tweets – just paste into your Twitter client. "Want to do something real to stop more children being hurt?" "Save #the-NSPCC-Helpline number to yr mobile: 0808 800 5000."
