Our celebrity ambassadors

Ade Adepitan MBE has been appointed the seventh NSPCC ambassador. Ade marked his official appointment by attending and speaking at the NSPCC’s Annual Council Meeting in London on 18 October 2007 at the Royal Geographical Society.

Ade Adepitan is a role model to many young people. He is passionate about children’s issues and aware of the difficulties children face when growing up. Speaking about his appointment Ade said:

“Becoming an NSPCC ambassador is a great opportunity to reach out to children and their parents, to raise awareness of cruelty to children in the UK and to campaign for a better place for children to grow up.”

Ade Adepitan has a varied career. He is a successful and respected Paralympic athlete, winning medals with the Great Britain wheelchair basketball team and was a member of  London’s 2012 Olympic committee. Ade’s career in TV presenting has seen him climb volcanoes in Nicaragua, scuba dive in Mexico and ski in North America. 

Ade’s appearance at the Annual Council Meeting was his second engagement for the NSPCC. He has also visited the  Maya Angelou centre in North London which supports children who have been abused, with a particular focus on disabled children.
