Campaign actions from 2006
Great news on budget funding for helplines - October 2006.
In October last year we ran a campaign asking Gordon Brown to ensure that helplines were available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, so that all children and young people who ring for help can get to speak to a counsellor. Therefore it was fantastic to hear him announce in the budget that additional resources will be provided to help support an expansion of these services. Read more about Gordon Brown's funding announcement.
Therapeutic services - May 2006
In May 2006 we campaigned to ensure that every child who has been sexually abused has access to the help they need by increasing the number of therapeutic services available. We are continuing to campaign on this subject as there are still not enough services for all children who need therapy. It is estimated that 90 per cent of abused children receive no substantial support to deal with the lasting damage the sexual abuse causes.Young witness support - January 2006
Over 22,000 campaigners asked Baroness Scotland to ensure that all children get the support they need when going through the witness process. This is a fantastic response and a very important show of the strength of public opinion on this subject
