All people who work with children and young people want to know that their activities are not just fun and rewarding, but safe as well.
When it comes to activity groups keeping children safe from abuse it's about putting in place simple policies and procedures, and knowing what to do if there are any worries that a child is being abused.
If you are in contact with a local activity group, community center or library, you can order three copies of our new leaflet to pass on to them. The leaflet talks about the products that are available for groups, to support them in keeping children safe, such as procedures for making checks on staff and volunteers, and responding to concerns about abuse.
You can order your copies by emailing saferchildren@nspcc.org.uk
Be sure to include your name and address details.
Or you can download a copy of the safeguarding leaflet here.
Or you can order by phone on this number 0871 990 3200
