Date of event:  01 September 2007

Stride out … and help to stop child cruelty

Energetic people are needed to join a 25-mile sponsored walk in aid of the NSPCC.

The HACK (Hike Against Cruelty to Kids) took its first steps in 2005.  Two years on the challenge has become a landmark in walkers' diaries.

In 2007 the HACK will take on a new route exploring the Last of the Summer Wine country, West Yorkshire. The challenge is a 25-mile circular route taking place on Saturday 1 September 2007.

Over the past two years more than 700 walkers have donned their boots to cover 35-miles of the National Park, North Yorkshire, from Kirkbymoorside to Scarborough.  Over £122 000 have been raised so far for the NSPCC to help stop cruelty to children.

The new route covers much of the South Pennines and Peak District - starting at Hade Edge, Holmfirth and includes parts of the Kirklees Way, the Pennine Way and the Trans Pennine Trail.  Registration has already started - visit  www.canuhackit.co.uk for further information or call 0113 2299 313 .  The registration fee is £12.50 (non-refundable) and you must be over 18 years of age to take part.

You can also set up your own fundraising page  to raise money for the event.
