The International North West 200

Date of event:  10 May 2009

Event end date:  16 May 2009

The organisers of the International North West 200 have nominated ChildLine, the NSPCC's free 24-hour confidential helpline for children and young people, as the event's official charity for their 80th Anniversary year.

Ireland’s biggest sporting spectacular attracts crowds in excess of 150,000 as well as the biggest names in the sport.  The Kennedy International North West 200 circuit runs between the towns of Portrush, Portstewart and Coleraine – an area of outstanding natural beauty and home to the world famous Giant’s Causeway.

Race week runs from Sunday 10 May – Saturday 16 May 2009 and is packed full of exciting fundraising activities to raise vital money for the development of our Foyle and Belfast ChildLine bases. There is something for everyone, and listed below are details on all our fundraising activities and how to get involved.

To find out more about the NW200, including full details of Race Week Festival, visit www.northwest200.org. or email northernirelandappeals@nspcc.org.uk

Thanks to Greenlight TV and BBC Northern Ireland, one lucky winner will accompany the filming crew on a flight around the famous triangle circuit and along the stunning Causeway Coast during one of the NW200 races on race day. Terms and conditions
The prize will be donated by a third party.  The prize consists of a flight for one person in a helicopter at NW200 on Saturday 16 May 2009 subject to these terms and conditions. The time of flight is the sole discretion of the flight crew, and the flight may be cancelled or take place without the winner without a reason being given. This prize is non-transferable and there is no cash equivalent. This competition is not open to any person employed by NSPCC, Greenlight TV, BBC Northern Ireland or any associated body, or their immediate family.  The winning ticket will be drawn on Friday 15 May 2009 after 3pm.  The holder of the first ticket drawn will be notified by telephone the same day – entrants must be contactable by phone during 3 – 7pm on Friday 15 May 2009. In the event that we are unable to make contact with the owner of the first ticket drawn by 7pm, further tickets will be  drawn and the winner shall be the first ticket holder to be notified of the win. The decision of the NSPCC as to the winner is final.  The winner must be available all day on Saturday 16 May 2009 to claim the prize. The winner will be advised of flight times and details. The winner should be in a reasonable state of health and should consult a physician in case of any health concerns.
