The ChildLine service, now one of the NSPCC’s listening services, still has the same well known telephone number - 0800 1111 - and children and young people can still call 24 hours a day and receive the same crucial service. ChildLine has two bases, one in North Wales - Rhyl (soon moving to Prestatyn) and one in West Wales - Swansea.
NSPCC Cymru/Wales Child Protection Helpline (Bilingual service)
A service based in Bangor that provides immediate help to anyone concerned about the safety and wellbeing of a child throughout Wales. The helpline provides telephone counselling and advice to children, young people, professionals and concerned members of the public. This is a bilingual service, allowing callers to communicate in either Welsh or English. The Helpline also provides a bilingual email service and a textphone service for callers who are deaf or hard of hearing.
Independent Enquiry and Assessment Service
The aim of this service is to protect children by undertaking child protection enquiries and assessments in cases where independence is required, where allegations are made against someone in a position of trust, where there are allegations of organised abuse, where there are allegations of abuse occurring in more than one local authority area, in secure estate and where children have experienced abuse via the internet. This service is based in Cardiff but can provide a service across Wales.

South Wales Domestic Violence Prevention Service
The strong links between domestic violence and child abuse have led the NSPCC to set up a pioneering service that tackles the issue of violence in the home. The service, based in Cardiff, works with children and young people who are at risk from the direct and indirect effects of domestic violence in order to reduce the impact that their experiences have upon them. The service also works with the mothers of children affected by domestic abuse and men who present a risk to children. The Domestic Violence Prevention Service is piloting an innovative groupwork programme ‘Caring Dads’ in several areas across Wales.
