Stopcheck

A step-by-step guide for organisations to safeguard children

Front cover of Stopcheck Stopcheck: a step-by-step guide for organisations to safeguard children (PDF, 326KB)  is an explanatory booklet designed to help smaller organisations providing activities or services for children to develop child protection policies and procedures.

Stopcheck has been developed in conjunction with Firstcheck - a comprehensive publication which promotes a self-help step-by-step approach to safeguarding children.

Stopcheck is for smaller organisations who:

  • are required (or who are taking the initiative) to develop a child protection policy and procedures as a condition for funding, charitable status, insurance or for other purposes

  • have experienced an incident of child abuse, or suspicion of abuse, and want to make sure they know what to do in future

  • have come across reports in the media about abuse in an organisation like theirs and don't want it to happen

  • simply want to take the initiative in making their organisation as safe as possible for children.

Stopcheck: a step-by-step guide for organisations to safeguard children (PDF, 326KB)  is available from NSPCC Publications Sample copy FREE with an A5 SAE plus two first class stamps.
