Hit means lost it

If you're a parent, stop. Keep a cool head and think before you act. Don't let stress get the better of you and don't take it out on your baby of toddler.

Being a parent is a tough job. We want to make sure parents know they can turn to us for help before it gets to the point where they can't control their anger. The NSPCC has produced a book called Keeping your cool and parents can ring the NSPCC helpline on 0808 800 5000 if they want to talk to someone.

Someone to turn to

Sometimes it's really, really hard to talk about problems. Maybe you don't want to talk about something or you feel that there's no-one you know who will listen to you.

We want to make sure that every child has someone to turn to when they need to talk. Talking about problems is one of the best ways to solve them.

Talking about problems means that something can be done and you don't worry about it on your own. If you have a problem, or know someone that might be in trouble, tell someone you trust. If you don't want to tell anyone you know, you can ring the NSPCC helpline on 0808 800 5000 and talk to someone.

The FULL STOP campaign.

The FULL STOP Campaign is our biggest ever. Our aim is to end cruelty to children FULL STOP. We want everyone to help us do this.

That includes parents, teachers, bosses, sports clubs, and you! Children and young people are at the heart of the campaign.

We have loads of FULL STOP programmes to help protect children at home, at school and in their everyday lives. But we need 250 million to do this.

October 2004: We launched the Someone to turn to Campaign. This is a massive push to make sure everyone knows that children who are at risk of abuse of cruelty need someone to talk to. Someone they can trust.

We want people to know that talking can help cruelty and abuse stop. Five years after the launch of the FULL STOP Campaign, we want to make the message loud and clear: Cruelty to children must stop. FULL STOP
