The NSPCC Helpline

If you thought that it’s only adults who use our helpline, then think again

We talk children and young people about the things that are making them unhappy.

So if you’re worried or scared about something in your life, phone us on:

0808 800 5000

Our helpline can help with:

  • Problems at home

  • bullying at school

  • physical or sexual abuse

  • worries about friends in danger

NSPCC Helpline is available free, 24 hours a day

These are just some of the things that our counsellors can help with. But they can help with loads more as well.

Things to remember about the helpline:

It’s free: Just pick up the phone and dial 0808 800 5000. Children who are deaf or hard of hearing can call our textphone on 0800 056 0566. If you call from a mobile you may be charged at a local rate.

It’s anonymous: You don’t have to give your name and the Helpline counsellor cannot trace your call.

It’s confidential: If you phone from a BT or cable phone, the Helpline will not show up on the bill. If you call from a mobile phone, the number probably will show up on the bill. But no-one can trace you if you call from a public phone.

It’s always open: You can call the Helpline 24-hours a day, seven days a week.

It’s on email: send an email to help@nspcc.org.uk and an advisor will try to get back to you within 24 hours. If they can't, they'll email you to let you know.

It's Asian and Welsh as well: The Welsh helpline number is: 0808 100 2524
and the Asian number is 0800 096 7719
