Calling the Helpline

What happens when I ring the Helpline?

One of our Helpline counsellors will answer the phone and listen carefully to what's worrying you.

They will also write down some details. You don't have to give your name and address but if you do, it means we can take action to make you safe if you're being hurt or badly treated.

Sometimes a counsellor may talk to someone they think is in real danger. When this happens we have to do everything we can to make sure that they are safe. And if things are really serious, we may ask the police to help.
