Paul Amadi to head NSPCC fundraising

The NSPCC has appointed Paul Amadi as its director of fundraising designate from 4 January 2010, the charity announced today (09 September). He will work alongside incumbent director Giles Pegram for three months, taking full responsibility for the NSPCC's annual fundraising income of nearly £150m when Giles retires in April 2010.
Amadi joins from the Royal National Institute of Blind People (RNIB), where he has been group director of fundraising since 2006. He is also chair of trustees for the Institute of Fundraising.
Andrew Flanagan, chief executive of the NSPCC, says: "I'm delighted we have appointed Paul to this position, which is so vital to our work to end child cruelty. Paul has an exceptional reputation and vast experience within charity fundraising, and I am very happy we have been able to attract him to join the NSPCC."
Paul Amadi says: "By common consensus, the NSPCC has in recent times set the benchmark for innovative, challenging and effective fundraising with Giles at the helm. About Paul Amadi
Paul Amadi began his fundraising career with NCH before becoming deputy director of public affairs at Leonard Cheshire. He was director of fundraising at Sense for over four years before joining RNIB as group director of fundraising in June 2006.
He has been a trustee of the Institute of Fundraising since July 2006 and was appointed chair of the trustees in July 2008.
