Star support from Marvin Humes and JLS
Multi-Award winning pop star and NSPCC celebrity supporter, Marvin Humes from top-selling group JLS, invited the NSPCC to the JLS Foundation Day at The Millennium Hotel in London on Thursday 29 September 2011.
The JLS Foundation was marking its one year anniversary and the group were there in person to hand out £100,000 between each of their chosen charities. Marvin's chosen charity is the NSPCC. The money will be spent to help our work with vulnerable children.
The group spent time with young people invited to attend - some of whom had amazing personal stories to tell of how they had been helped by our services. Everyone invited had an amazing time and JLS made their week by signing autographs and having photos taken.
Earlier in the same week Marvin had visited ChildLine Headquarters to learn more about what happens there as well as catch up on how things had progressed since his last visit. He joined in by leaving messages to young people on the ChildLine message boards.
His support began in 2009 when he visited The Harefield Academy School in Uxbridge to give an assembly and answer questions from young people. He followed this up by being the face of NSPCC Number Day in 2010.
