The NSPCC comments on the resignation of Jim Gamble
Jim Gamble has resigns as chief executive from the Child Explotation and Online Protection Centre (CEOP) following news that the centre is to be subsumed into the new National Crime Agency.
Andrew Flanagan, chief executive of the NSPCC said: "Jim Gamble has done a tremendous job as Chief Executive of the Child Exploitation and Online Protection centre and we regret that he has decided to resign.
"CEOP’s success in the fight against sex offenders has been in no small part due to Jim’s inspirational and dedicated leadership. He has ensured that the child is at the centre of all that they do and that the child’s voice is heard at the highest levels of policing in the UK.
"If the government’s proposals to include CEOP within the National Crime Agency go ahead, it is even more important that CEOP has strong leadership so it can maintain a prominent and successful role in protecting children from online predators who seek to groom and abuse them."
