Thorntons' centenary fundraising
2011 was Thorntons 100th birthday and Britain's best loved chocolate brand ran a series of events and activities with staff and customers to make 2011 their most successful fundraising year.
John O'Groats to Land's End
The centenary activities included Cycle 100, where five Thorntons employees cycled 1,200 miles from John O'Groats to Land’s End, visiting 100 Thorntons stores along the way, all of which raised money on the day of the team's visit.
Gala Day
Thorntons also held a Gala Day for employees at Thornton Park and then took its Live Mechanical Chocolatier and Chocolate Kabin on a tour of the UK to raise money for the NSPCC.
We're so grateful to Thorntons staff and customers for everything they did in 2011. Together they raised over £70,000 during their centenary year.
It's an incredible achievement and means that we can keep more children safe from harm.
