The NSPCC is announced as official charity for 2012 Brighton Marathon
The NSPCC are celebrating after being chosen as Official National Charity for the 2012 Brighton Marathon. We had a team of 60 runners in the 2011 Marathon and hope to raise raise £20,000, but in 2012 we now hope to have over 500 runners and raise over £250,000 for ChildLine.
We’re absolutely delighted to have been nominated for what is one of the UK’s most popular marathons. The event will take place on Sunday 15 April and we’re now encouraging runners to apply for a guaranteed place with teamGO.
Alternatively, runners can apply through to the Brighton Marathon ballot directly and then contact NSPCC for a teamGO welcome pack.
The course is spectacular. Starting from the Preston Park, it takes in the best of the city centre including the Brighton Pavilion. It then follows the coastal roads, giving panoramic views of the South Downs before coming down to the sea front. We’ll have a huge presence on the day and all our runners will get very noisy support from our team of adrenalin-inducing cheerers.
