New online videos promote NSPCC Helpline

The NSPCC have released two online videos to highlight the importance of the helpline service. The NSPCC Helpline is a free service, available 24-hours a day, every day of the year.

The videos show examples of the kind of situations that people may find themselves in when worried about the welfare of a child. In Everyday Choices we see the kind of choices that we all face on a daily basis, concluding with the dilemma over whether a suspected case of abuse should be reported to the helpline.

In Difficult Call we see three parts of a story as seen through the eyes of three different people who were involved - a child, a concerned neighbour and a counsellor. Some technical wizardry allows users to choose whose story they would like to continue with, so that a sense of the different motivations of the characters is amplified.

We are hoping that by illustrating examples of how the helpline can be used, and what actions are taken, more people will be encouraged to call should they suspect that abuse is taking place. If you think a child is in danger, please call the helpline on 0808 800 5000. One of our experienced advisors will be able to make a decision on the best action to take.
