Hollywood glamour themed ball raises £10,000 for the NSPCC

Hollywood signA Hollywood Glamour themed ball organised in aid of the NSPCC and ChildLine's work in Peterborough has raised more than £10,000.

The annual black tie event, hosted by Peterborough Business Support Board, once again proved to be a great success with over 150 people joining in the night's fun at the Haycock Hotel in Wansford.

Attendees took part in a hugely successful auction, which included two prizes donated by Mike Green who recently appeared on Channel 4's Secret Millionaire. Guests were also treated to a three course meal, music and lots more fundraising fun.

Local NSPCC corporate fundraising manager, Gerry Harmon, said: "The money raised from this event, will go towards supporting the work of the NSPCC and ChildLine in Peterborough, helping us to work with local vulnerable children and families.

"I would like to thank everyone for their support and congratulate the Peterborough Business Support Board on yet another fantastic event and for all of their hard work and dedication. Through your kind efforts we truly can make a difference to children's lives."

The May Ball has been an annual fixture since the Peterborough Business Support Board started in 1996. It is one of several events organized by the Board during the year with the next one being the Brains of Peterborough Quiz on 26 June.
